We are seeking an experienced, high-energy Plumbing Manager to lead our plumbing division. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily field operations, managing a team of plumbing technicians, ensuring strict compliance with local plumbing codes, and driving profitability.
The ideal candidate transitions seamlessly between mentoring field staff, and interfacing with customers to ensure high satisfaction. You will be the technical backbone and leadership engine of our plumbing team.
Core Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Management: Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate plumbing technicians. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and high-quality workmanship.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Conduct on-site quality checks to ensure all work meets or exceeds local and national plumbing codes. Troubleshoot complex plumbing issues that require advanced technical expertise.
- Financial Performance: Review job costs, approve material purchases, and optimize labor hours to achieve profit margin goals.
- Customer Relations: Resolve high-level customer complaints or disputes with professionalism. Provide accurate project estimates and quotes for large-scale installations or repairs.
- Inventory & Fleet Management: Oversee truck stock inventory, shop equipment, and coordinate fleet maintenance to ensure technicians have the tools they need to succeed.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Licensure - Active Master Plumber license in good standing.
- Experience - 5+ years of service manager plumbing experience.
- Technical Skills - Expert knowledge of residential/commercial plumbing systems, and local code regulations.
- Software Literacy - Familiarity with field service management software (e.g., ServiceTitan, and basic MS Office.)
- Physical Ability - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and inspect tight spaces (crawlspaces/attics) when conducting field audits.
- Credentials - Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; must pass background checks.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Success
A successful Plumbing Manager will be evaluated based on:
- Callback Rate: Keeping warranty or rework callbacks below a set company threshold (typically less than 2-3%).
- Division Profitability: Meeting or exceeding monthly revenue and gross profit targets for the plumbing department.
- Team Retention & Utilization: Maintaining high technician morale and optimizing billable hours versus unbillable windshield time.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
