We’re hiring Keyholders for two of our immersive retail experiences at Broadway at the Beach: The Cloak & Wand (a magical retail and potion experience) and Alice’s Little Haunted Bookshop (a cozy, slightly eerie bookstore full of character).
This is a hands-on role for someone who likes responsibility, takes pride in their work, and can help keep a store running smoothly day to day.
What This Role Is
A Keyholder is a trusted member of the team who helps open and close the store, keeps things running when a supervisor isn’t present, and sets the tone for the rest of the staff.
You’re not just watching the store—you’re helping run it.
Pay
$14.50 per hour
What You’ll Do
- Open and close the store independently and responsibly
- Maintain store standards so the space always feels full, organized, and “alive”
- Make sure product is stocked, faced, and not sitting in the back when it belongs on the floor
- Help customers in a friendly, natural way (not pushy, not robotic)
- Support the supervisor by helping guide team members during your shift
- Identify and report maintenance or operational issues early (not after they become problems)
- Follow and reinforce company standards for merchandising and cleanliness
- Handle basic cash management and POS transactions
What Success Looks Like
- The store looks full, clean, and intentional at all times—not picked over or forgotten
- Shelves are stocked properly, not half-empty while product sits in the back
- Customers feel welcomed and taken care of without being overwhelmed
- Your shifts run smoothly—even when a supervisor isn’t there
- Team members stay on task and know what to do during your shift
- Issues (maintenance, inventory gaps, operational problems) are caught early and communicated clearly
- Opening and closing are done correctly every time—no surprises the next day
- The store feels consistent from shift to shift, no matter who is working
What We’re Looking For
- Someone reliable who shows up on time and follows through
- Comfortable taking ownership of the store during a shift
- Good judgment—you don’t need constant direction
- Strong attention to detail (you notice when something feels “off”)
- Positive, steady attitude—especially during busy tourist days
- Willingness to jump in wherever needed
Retail experience helps, but mindset matters more.
