Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder specializing in MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding to join our dynamic fabrication team. This role is vital in producing high-quality metal components and assemblies, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with various welding techniques, a strong understanding of technical drawings, and mechanical fabrication skills to contribute to our manufacturing excellence. Responsibilities
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop math to accurately assemble metal components.
- Perform MIG and TIG welding using FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and gas metal arc welding techniques on various metal materials including sheet metal.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes to ensure precise dimensions and tolerances.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment safely and efficiently for fabrication and assembly tasks.
- Conduct quality checks on welds and fabricated parts according to AWS (American Welding Society) standards and project specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to strict safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving metal materials, sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and mechanical fabrication processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience working on construction sites or in a manufacturing environment with metal fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and interpret mechanical blueprints accurately.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise fabrication work.
- Mechanical knowledge of tools, power tools, hand tools, plasma cutting equipment, and machining processes.
- Experience with crane operation or working around cranes is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to adhere strictly to safety protocols while handling metal materials and welding equipment.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Prior sheet metal fabrication or mechanical shop experience preferred.
