Overview
We are a reputable, family-run dachshund breeding organization dedicated to producing healthy, well-socialized puppies with exceptional temperaments. We are seeking a caring and dependable Dachshund Breeding Assistant to help provide the highest quality care for our dogs and puppies from birth through adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily feeding, grooming, and exercise of dachshunds and puppies
- Maintain clean and sanitary kennel and living areas
- Support whelping (puppy births) and neonatal puppy care
- Monitor the health, growth, and behavior of puppies and adult dogs
- Maintain accurate records of breeding, veterinary visits, and developmental milestones
- Welcome potential buyers, answer questions, and assist with adoption procedures
- Run errands for supplies and veterinary appointments as needed
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with dogs (especially small breeds) preferred
- Ability to handle dachshunds of various ages and temperaments
- Comfortable with physically demanding work, including lifting up to 30 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable
- Flexible schedule, including some weekends and evenings during breeding/whelping periods
