Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and take their orders accurately for food and beverages, including non-alcoholic drinks, coffee specialties, and alcoholic beverages when applicable.
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages such as coffee drinks, cocktails, beer, wine, and soft drinks with precision and flair.
- Operate POS systems like Toast POS to process transactions efficiently while handling cash and credit card payments securely.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, bar areas, dining spaces, and equipment in accordance with food safety standards.
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed during food preparation and serving to uphold health regulations.
- Manage time effectively during busy hours to serve multiple tables or customers promptly without sacrificing quality.
- Assist with retail sales transactions when needed, including processing payments for merchandise or retail items.
- Support team members in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere by providing excellent customer service from greeting to farewell.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have Utah Food Handler and Alcohol Certificates.
- Previous experience in food service or café environments is highly preferred; barista experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POS to process transactions accurately.
- Strong knowledge of beverage preparation techniques including coffee brewing, drink mixing, and non-alcoholic beverage crafting.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and engage positively with guests.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, processing payments, and retail math calculations.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods effectively.
