Part-Time Nurse Practitioner (10 Hours/Week)

Position Overview
Las Caritas Walk-In Clinic is seeking a compassionate, efficient, and patient-focused Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing family medicine and walk-in clinic. This is an excellent opportunity for a provider looking for a flexible, part-time position while making a meaningful impact in the community.
Our clinic provides primary care, acute care, preventive services, weight management, hormone replacement therapy, wellness services, and chronic disease management. We are looking for a provider who is comfortable working independently, building relationships with patients, and helping grow the practice through excellent patient care.
Schedule: Approximately 10 hours per week (1–2 days per week)

ResponsibilitiesPatient Care
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations.
- Develop and implement treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with Texas regulations.
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies.
- Manage chronic conditions such as:
- Hypertension
- Diabetes
- Hyperlipidemia
- Thyroid disorders
- Obesity
- Asthma/COPD
- Perform follow-up care and monitor patient progress.
- Educate patients on preventive care, lifestyle modifications, and treatment plans.
Weight Loss & Wellness Services
- Manage patients enrolled in weight loss programs.
- Prescribe and monitor:
- Semaglutide
- Tirzepatide
- Review laboratory results and treatment response.
- Provide counseling regarding nutrition, exercise, and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Administer or supervise wellness injections as appropriate.
Clinical Documentation
- Complete timely and accurate charting within the EHR.
- Review and sign laboratory and imaging results promptly.
- Maintain compliance with clinic protocols and documentation standards.
- Ensure proper coding and documentation to support billing requirements.
Collaboration & Operations
- Work closely with medical assistants and front office staff.
- Participate in patient retention and follow-up initiatives.
- Help maintain quality metrics and patient satisfaction.
- Support clinic growth through excellent patient experiences and positive online reviews.
- Assist in developing clinical workflows and protocols as needed.
Qualifications Required
- Active Texas Nurse Practitioner license.
- Current DEA registration.
- Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology NP.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and bedside manner.
- Experience using electronic health records (EHRs).
Preferred
- 2+ years of primary care, family medicine, urgent care, or walk-in clinic experience.
- Experience with obesity medicine, GLP-1 medications, or hormone replacement therapy.
- Experience interpreting laboratory results and managing chronic conditions.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
