Metal Fabrication Estimator/ Quoter Kemlee Manufacturing, Inc. – Galena, KSKemlee Manufacturing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Metal Fabrication Estimator to join our team. This position plays a critical role in reviewing customer drawings, preparing accurate cost estimates, and coordinating projects from quote to production.Responsibilities
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Utilize AutoCAD and manufacturing drawings to determine material, labor, and production requirements.
- Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates and quotations for custom fabrication projects.
- Generate and manage purchase orders, shop orders, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with production, welding, fabrication, and management teams to ensure project success.
- Communicate directly with customers regarding project requirements, timelines, and pricing.
- Track and update estimates using Excel and company software systems.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and continuous process improvements.
Qualifications
- Experience in the metal fabrication, manufacturing, or construction industry preferred.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting fabrication and manufacturing drawings.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of welding, forming, bending, machining, and custom fabrication processes.
- Experience with purchase orders, shop orders, and production workflows.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience
- Previous estimating experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of steel, aluminum, and other metal fabrication materials.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling.
