Required Related Experience

Required License/Registration/Certification
Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
Physical Requirements
This position requires use of a computer workstation, completion of tasks with repetitive motions, and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. This position may require personnel to wear personal protective equipment to reduce risk of exposure to work-related hazards (e.g. handling of hazardous medications).
Shift
First shift; 7 days on/7 days off; 7am – 7pm or 7am – 5:30pm.
Job Summary
The Inpatient Pharmacy Senior Technician plays a key role in supporting pharmaceutical care in the inpatient hospital setting. Responsibilities include maintaining stock inventory, participating in ordering, ensuring proper storage conditions, and monitoring expiration dates; assisting pharmacists in the preparation and compounding of complex sterile and non-sterile products; and participating in the delivery of individual patient doses and batch doses, including sterile IV medications. The technician is also responsible for replenishing automated medication dispensing cabinets, providing customer service in the Central Pharmacy, and assisting in the onboarding and training of newly hired technicians, interns, and student learners. This role supports a safe and efficient medication-use process with a strong patient centered focus. This position is eligible for a recruitment bonus. Additional details will be provided during the hiring process should your application be selected to move forward. The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $18.50/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience.
