In this vital cross-trained role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a warm, welcoming environment while supporting the clinical team with essential eye care procedures. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help streamline daily operations, promote patient satisfaction, and uphold the highest standards of medical and optical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival
- Answer phone calls/faxes as needed
- Create or reschedule appointments
- Efficiently manage check-in and check-out procedures at the front desk
- Prepare patients for eye examinations by doing pretesting
- Contact lens organization and training
- Maintain patient records according to HIPAA regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment
- Train new staff (once in lead role)
Skills
- Communicate well with patients
- Proficiency in HIPAA compliance
- Quick to learn technology and routines
- Math skills to ensure proper billing during check out
- Experience working with diverse patient groups
