Journeyman Electrician | Battery Energy Storage Systems (ESS) Experience Preferred
We are looking for a Texas Licensed Journeyman Electrician with experience in residential service work, solar, or Battery Energy Storage Systems (ESS). This position focuses on installing Duracell Battery Energy Storage Systems on existing residential solar installations throughout Texas.
Preferred Experience
- Current Texas Journeyman Electrician License
- Experience installing Battery Energy Storage Systems (ESS), including Duracell ESS, Tesla Powerwall, FranklinWH, Enphase IQ Battery, SolarEdge, or similar systems
- Residential service upgrades and panel replacements
- Working on existing solar (PV) systems
- Installing hybrid inverters, batteries, backup load centers, AC disconnects, and emergency stop (E-Stop) devices
- Reading and interpreting one-line diagrams, engineered plans, and electrical schematics
- Installing EMT, PVC, and outdoor conduit with clean, professional workmanship
- Troubleshooting electrical systems and commissioning battery installations
- Knowledge of NEC Articles 690, 705, and 706
- Ability to lead an apprentice and maintain a safe, productive job site
Responsibilities
- Lead the installation of Duracell Battery Energy Storage Systems
- Perform service upgrades, panel modifications, and electrical tie-ins
- Ensure all installations meet NEC, utility, AHJ, and manufacturer requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and commissioning issues in the field
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
- Complete required installation documentation and quality control photos
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, inspectors, and project managers
- Mentor apprentices while ensuring all work is completed safely and to company standards
Candidates with battery storage, solar, and residential service experience are strongly preferred. However, licensed Journeyman Electricians with strong residential experience and a willingness to learn battery storage systems are encouraged to apply.
Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
