Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues across vehicle systems including engine, electrical, transmission, and suspension.
- Repair and overhaul engines, including diesel engine repair and automotive engine system repair, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to accurately troubleshoot electrical problems within vehicle electrical systems.
- Conduct wheel alignments, vehicle maintenance, and powertrain repairs to optimize vehicle performance and safety.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and manual handling techniques to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle components efficiently.
- Inspect vehicles thoroughly for mechanical issues or potential failures; perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake repairs, and system calibrations.
- Stay current with automotive technology advancements including ADAS features and automotive wiring interpretation to provide top-tier service.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with dealership or independent shop background preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including engines, transmissions, electrical wiring, and powertrain components.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostic tools and diagnostics procedures for various vehicle makes and models.
- Familiarity with automotive schematics, wiring diagrams, and electronic control units (ECUs).
- Experience working on GM vehicles or similar brands is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining manual handling standards.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, alignment procedures, and vehicle maintenance best practices.
- Valid certification in automotive repair or relevant technical training; ASE certification is advantageous but not required.
