Job Overview
Seeking a qualified candidate to work for the Engineering department on various projects at both our Warrensburg and Kingsville facilities. The qualified candidate will assist Engineering staff in developing production processes, producing small quantities of ammunition-related products, supporting R&D efforts, producing ballistic samples, and supporting production efforts. Processes include operation of mechanical equipment as well as manual operations related to producing ammunition and ammunition components. Candidate needs to be comfortable working hands-on with Class 1 explosives, propellants, solvents, metallic components, lubricants, and cleaning products. On the job safety training and PPE will be provided. Candidate needs to be flexible and adjust to change easily. Will typically be working with other UDC Engineering staff members, Production personnel, and Maintenance team members, but should also be comfortable working independently with basic instruction from Engineering. Candidate should be comfortable working in front of customer representatives. Experience with ammunition, energetics, and ballistics is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Production Operations: Set up, adjust, and operate high-speed production machinery and manual equipment for Load, Assemble, Pack (LAP) processes of energetic materials and ammunition components.
- Technical Support: Assist engineers with process development, improvements, tooling adjustments, and the development of new manufacturing equipment.
- Quality Control & Inspection: Perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure compliance with technical requirements and safety standards.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on mechanical, automated, or explosive-production equipment.
- Data Recording & Documentation: Maintain accurate records, update engineering drawings, and document technical data packages in accordance with technical, safety and quality requirements.
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
