Description:
ORIENTATION IS MON-FRI 8a-4:30p FOR 2 WEEKSIncludes classroom time in Springfield at Mercy Medical CenterThen the schedule is day shift every other weekendPosition Purpose
Completes patientregistrations/pre-registration processes in the ED following department procedures using identified technology systems. Processes include obtaining accurate demographic, insurance and patient liability information. Responsible for working with multiple department/hospital and web-based systems.
What you will do
- Performs complete and accurate pre-registrations, registration, and admission functions
- Verifies insurance requirements, obtains and understands insurance benefits
- Ensures that all entries concerning demographic, financial and advanced directives are
- Collects non-covered fees
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum High school or equivalent
- One year experience in an accredited hospital or physician's office preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication and interview skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer systems and computer devices
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances
Position Highlights and Benefits
- Part time 8hrs per week via every other weekend on 6:15a-3:15pm. Weekend differential applies
