Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Box Truck Owner Operator to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating our own box truck to deliver goods efficiently and reliably across designated routes. Duties
- Safely operate a box truck to pick up and deliver goods according to scheduled routes, adhering to all traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while following safe lifting practices.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle to ensure it is in optimal condition, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
- Manage delivery documentation accurately using mobile devices, including delivery manifests, proof of delivery, and route logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate deliveries, provide updates, and resolve any issues professionally.
- Assist with warehouse operations when necessary, including material handling and moving inventory within storage areas.
- Ensure compliance with weight handling in the workplace and proper manual transmission operation when applicable.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with box trucks or commercial trucks.
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform manual handling tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of route driving, traffic regulations, and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or similar devices.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and team members.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with <PERSON> driver programs is desirable.
- Ability to perform manual transmission driving if required by the vehicle fleet.
