Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Laborer to join our team in providing exceptional care and support in a long-term care setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents in retirement homes and nursing homes. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for caregiving.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Provide support in medication administration under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed, reporting any changes to nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for residents, adhering to hygiene standards.
- Implement behavior management strategies to support residents with specific needs.
- Collaborate with team members to develop individualized care plans for residents.
- Lift and assist residents as necessary, ensuring their dignity and safety at all times.
Experience
- Previous experience in long-term care, home care, or similar environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with caregiving practices, including medication administration and vital signs monitoring.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with residents and their families.
- A compassionate approach to caregiving, demonstrating patience and understanding in all interactions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
