Pay: $18.00 – $21.00 per hour, based on experience

Schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Two-hour break from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM)

About the Role
We are a boutique assisted living organization with two home-style residences, each serving up to 16 residents. Our homes are calm, welcoming, and focused on comfort, dignity, and quality of life. Meals are an important part of daily life, and we take pride in serving food that feels familiar, nourishing, and thoughtfully prepared.
This position typically prepares meals for one home per shift, though the cook may occasionally be scheduled at either home during the same workweek. Menus are standardized across both locations, providing consistency for residents and ease of preparation for staff.
This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys cooking in a small, residential setting and values quality over quantity.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner for up to 16 residents per home

Follow standardized menus and approved recipes used across both homes

Prepare fresh, home-style meals with attention to consistency and presentation

Accommodate special diets (diabetic, low-sodium, mechanical soft, etc.)

Maintain food safety, sanitation, and proper temperature controls

Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and rotation

Keep kitchen and equipment clean and inspection-ready

Complete required meal service, temperature, and cleaning logs

Communicate inventory needs to the Kitchen Manager

Work collaboratively with caregivers and management to support resident care

Qualifications (Required)
- Minimum 2 years of cooking experience, preferably in assisted living, senior care, or healthcare
- Valid Arizona Food Handler’s Card (required)
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices

Experience preparing meals for multiple individuals efficiently

Ability to follow dietary requirements and standardized menus

Reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs

Must pass background check and meet Arizona assisted living requirements

Preferred Experience
Assisted living, group home, or healthcare kitchen experience

Familiarity with ADHS inspections

Enjoyment of cooking for seniors in a home-style environment
