Willmar, MN | $120,000–$160,000 | Full-Time | In-Person

You’re Not Looking for Another Mechanic Job.
You’ve already proven you can fix vehicles.
Now you’re looking for a place where your experience matters, difficult problems are trusted to you, and exceptional performance can lead somewhere bigger.
You want to diagnose the problem everyone else has been chasing.
You want the responsibility to make the repair right the first time.
And you want to help build a maintenance operation, not spend the next ten years doing the same job in the same bay.
At Big Inc., we're building a rapidly growing logistics and fleet operation, and our maintenance division is becoming a critical part of that growth.
We're looking for an experienced Master Fleet Technician who can keep our equipment safe, reliable, and on the road while helping us build the systems, standards, and team required for the next stage of our company.
This isn't a position for someone who simply knows how to replace parts.
We're looking for someone who knows how to solve problems.
About Big Inc.
Our mission is simple:
Relentlessly Deliver Excellence through Safety, Precision, and Integrity.
We're building toward a $100 million organization powered by hundreds of exceptional professionals across multiple markets.
As the company grows, so does the importance of our fleet.
Every truck that leaves our shop needs to be safe.
Every diagnosis needs to be accurate.
Every repair needs to last.
And every hour of unnecessary downtime costs the operation.
That's why we're investing in building an elite in-house maintenance organization.
The Role
We're seeking an experienced Master Automotive Technician to perform advanced diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and major repairs across a diverse commercial fleet.
You'll work on equipment including:
- Ford F59 step vans
- Freightliner MT45s
- Ford E350/E450 cutaways
- Chevrolet Express 3500HDs
- Ford F650 straight trucks
- Ford Transit 350 High Roof vans
- Medium- and heavy-duty commercial equipment
You'll diagnose and repair gasoline, diesel, electrical, braking, suspension, drivetrain, and other vehicle systems while helping us continuously improve fleet reliability and shop performance.
But this role can become much more than that.
As Big Inc. expands, we're building the maintenance leadership structure that will support multiple fleets and markets.
For the right technician, this is an opportunity to help build it.
Your Mission
1. Keep the Fleet Moving
Deliver accurate, high-quality repairs that maximize vehicle uptime and keep our operations running.
2. Diagnose the Problem, Not the Symptom
Use advanced diagnostic skills and disciplined troubleshooting to identify root causes and eliminate repeat failures.
3. Build a Zero-Rework Culture
Take ownership of every repair and maintain a standard where work is completed correctly the first time.
4. Protect Safety and Compliance
Ensure vehicles meet Big Inc. safety expectations, preventive-maintenance standards, and DOT requirements before returning to service.
5. Help Build the Future Maintenance Team
As the operation grows, mentor developing technicians, improve shop processes, and help establish the standards that future Big Inc. maintenance locations will follow.
What Success Looks Like
Success isn't measured by how busy the shop looks.
It's measured by safe trucks, accurate repairs, reduced downtime, and vehicles that don't come back for the same problem.
You'll be evaluated through measurable improvements in:
- Fleet uptime
- Repair turnaround time
- First-time repair accuracy
- Rework percentage
- Preventive-maintenance completion
- DOT compliance
- Technician productivity
- Trucks completed per week
- Quality audit results
- Repair documentation accuracy
- Maintenance cost control
Key Responsibilities
Diagnostics & Repair
Perform advanced diagnostics across gasoline, diesel, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems.
Troubleshoot complex and intermittent vehicle issues using professional diagnostic equipment.
Complete engine, transmission, drivetrain, brake, steering, suspension, and electrical repairs.
Identify root causes rather than simply replacing components.
Perform preventive maintenance and DOT-related inspections and repairs.
Support medium- and heavy-duty equipment diagnostics and maintenance.
Fleet Reliability
Identify recurring failures and recommend permanent corrective actions.
Work with leadership to prioritize repairs based on safety, operational needs, cost, and fleet uptime.
Help reduce emergency repairs through disciplined preventive maintenance.
Identify opportunities to improve vehicle reliability and total cost of ownership.
Shop Excellence
Document labor, repairs, diagnostics, and parts accurately within fleet maintenance systems.
Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional work environment.
Protect company equipment, tools, and assets.
Follow established safety and quality-control procedures.
Help develop better maintenance processes as the operation grows.
Leadership & Development
Share technical knowledge with developing technicians.
Help establish diagnostic and repair standards.

- Auto body repair capabilities
- Fleet maintenance experience
- Previous leadership or technician-mentoring experience
Specialty tools and equipment are provided by Big Inc.
Your Edge
You don't throw parts at problems.
You diagnose them.
You don't consider a truck fixed because the warning light disappeared.
You want to know why it failed.
You take pride in sending equipment back into service knowing the repair was done correctly.
You keep your workspace organized because your standards show up in everything you do.
You don't need someone standing behind you telling you what needs to happen next.
And when a less-experienced technician needs help, you're the person they're already coming to.
That's the technician we're looking for.
Why Join Big Inc.?
You're not joining a shop that plans to stay the same size.
You're joining a growing organization where fleet maintenance will become increasingly important to the company's success.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Work on a diverse commercial fleet
- Solve challenging diagnostic problems
- Have direct impact on fleet uptime and company performance
- Help improve maintenance systems and processes
- Mentor future technicians
- Grow into maintenance leadership
- Build a long-term career inside a rapidly expanding organization
- Earn $90,000–$120,000, with performance incentives and advancement opportunities
We value productivity.
But we don't believe productivity means cutting corners.
The goal is simple: safe equipment, accurate diagnostics, quality repairs, and maximum fleet uptime.
