About The Role
The Shade is a high-end nail studio redefining the modern nail experience. Focused on precision, elevated service, and a luxury client journey, The Shade delivers a refined, detail-oriented approach to nail care in a beautifully curated environment. We are seeking an experienced Studio Manager to lead our NYC location. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of studio operations, driving revenue performance, and managing a high-performing team in a luxury service environment. The ideal candidate has strong leadership experience within beauty, hospitality, or wellness and understands how to deliver a polished, high-touch client experience while maintaining operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations
- Oversee daily studio operations and ensure a seamless client experience
Team Leadership
- Hire, train, and manage front-of-house and nail technicians
- Lead with accountability, professionalism, and a strong service mindset
- Conduct ongoing coaching, performance management, and team development
Sales & Performance
- Drive revenue through rebooking, packages, and service upgrades
- Monitor KPIs including sales, productivity, and client retention
- Implement strategies to meet and exceed studio goals
Client Experience
- Ensure every client receives a high-touch, elevated experience
- Handle client concerns with professionalism and urgency
- Build strong relationships with a loyal client base
Marketing & Community
- Support local marketing efforts, events, and partnerships
- Assist with influencer collaborations and in-studio activations
- Maintain luxury brand standards, cleanliness, and presentation at all times
- Manage scheduling, inventory, and supply ordering
Qualifications
- 2+ years of management experience in beauty, nail, spa, or hospitality
- Experience managing in a high-end or luxury service environment preferred
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Sales-driven with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused
- Experience with booking platforms (Mindbody preferred)
