Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including conveyors, mixers, packaging machinery, and HVAC systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues using schematics, electrical blueprints, and precision measuring instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters.
- Perform repairs involving welding ( welding if applicable), replacement of worn parts, and calibration of machinery to ensure optimal operation.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule upcoming tasks.
- Troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial control systems, and electrical systems to identify root causes of malfunctions.
- Assist with field service activities including equipment installation, upgrades, and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards by adhering to OSHA regulations related to electrical diagnostics, high voltage systems, and industrial maintenance procedures.
- Read technical schematics and electrical blueprints for troubleshooting complex systems involving low voltage and high voltage components.
- Support engineering troubleshooting efforts by analyzing system failures and recommending improvements for reliability.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure equipment meets quality standards while maintaining safety protocols.
Skills
- Extensive experience working in manufacturing facilities with a strong understanding of industrial mechanics and maintenance practices.
- Proficiency with CMMS platforms for work order management and maintenance tracking.
- Technical sales experience is a plus for understanding customer needs related to equipment repair or upgrades.
- Knowledge of HVAC/R systems, including troubleshooting heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration components, and controls.
- Ability to operate scissor lifts safely for access during maintenance tasks at elevated heights.
- Skilled in reading schematics, electrical blueprints, and engineering diagrams related to electrical systems and control panels.
- Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics using tools such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters; capable of troubleshooting electrical systems at both low and high voltage levels.
- Strong mechanical knowledge encompassing hydraulics, pneumatics, welding ( welding if applicable), and precision measuring instruments.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation troubleshooting within an industrial setting.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment failures quickly while maintaining safety standards in an industrial environment.
- Excellent customer service skills when collaborating with internal teams or external vendors during field service activities.
- Industrial electrician experience preferred; capable of reading electrical schematics and performing electrical maintenance effectively.
