Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our team at a small private club. This full-time position offers room for advancement and is ideal for individuals with strong accounting skills and a desire to grow within the organization. The role requires proficiency in managing financial operations, supporting payroll and HR functions, and maintaining accurate financial records in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be prepared to work on-site, with a focus on teamwork and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger management.
- Support payroll processing and HR-related tasks as needed.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Prepare financial reports, statements, and reconciliations in accordance with accounting standards.
- Collaborate with management to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies.
- Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Utilize Excel and Word proficiently to analyze data, prepare reports, and document procedures.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while multitasking across various responsibilities.
Experience
- Strong accounting skills with prior experience in finance or accounting roles preferred.
- Educational background such as a BBA is preferred; relevant certifications are a plus.
- Payroll and HR experience helpful but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word is required to perform data analysis and reporting tasks.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
