Job Summary
STAR Manufacturing is seeking an experienced and reliable Machine Operator to join our growing manufacturing team.
The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating production equipment, monitoring machine performance, completing required production documentation, and ensuring products are manufactured safely and according to quality standards.
The ideal candidate has previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or production environment. Experience in a food manufacturing facility is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment
- Perform basic machine setup and operational checks
- Monitor equipment performance during production
- Identify and report machine problems, abnormalities, or downtime
- Follow production instructions, SOPs, and established procedures
- Complete production records and required documentation accurately
- Maintain product quality and production standards
- Follow GMP, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
- Perform basic troubleshooting when appropriate
- Immediately report equipment, safety, or quality concerns
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, Quality Assurance, and team members
Qualifications
- Previous machine operator experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
- Food manufacturing or food production experience strongly preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to follow written instructions, SOPs, and production procedures
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to accurately complete production documentation
- Understanding of workplace safety practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Highly Preferred
- Experience operating production or packaging equipment
- Food manufacturing experience
- GMP experience
- HACCP training or certification
- Experience with production documentation and batch records
- Basic preventive maintenance or mechanical troubleshooting experience
