Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of hair services including cutting, styling, coloring, extensions, and texturizing treatments using advanced techniques like balayage and hair threading.
- Apply makeup and eyelash extensions to enhance clients’ natural beauty with precision and artistry.
- Use salon software such as MINDBODY for appointment scheduling, client records management, and retail sales tracking.
- Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by sterilizing tools, cleaning workstations, and adhering to health regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by listening carefully to clients’ needs, offering expert advice on hair care products, and upselling retail items like hair care products and nail care accessories.
- Manage front desk responsibilities including greeting clients, booking appointments, processing payments, and managing retail inventory.
- Mentor junior team members by sharing techniques in hair styling, color theory, and retail sales strategies while fostering a positive team environment.
- Stay current on industry trends such as barbering techniques with straight razors and the latest in nail care and makeup application to offer innovative services.
Experience
- Proven experience as a hairstylist or cosmetologist with a strong portfolio demonstrating diverse skills in hair styling, coloring, extensions, and makeup application.
- Knowledge of salon software systems like MINDBODY for scheduling and retail management.
- Familiarity with sanitation procedures and state licensing requirements for cosmetology or barbering.
- Skilled in retail sales techniques including upselling products related to hair care, nail care, and cosmetics.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with clients of all backgrounds while providing personalized recommendations.
- Experience mentoring or training team members is a plus.
- Ability to perform specialized services such as eyelash extensions or hair threading with precision.
