We are seeking an Electrical Thermography Technician to perform infrared inspections of electrical systems operating at 600 volts or less. This is an inspection-focused position responsible for using infrared/thermal imaging equipment to identify, document, and report abnormal thermal conditions within electrical systems.
This position does not perform electrical repairs. The technician's responsibility is to conduct inspections, capture and analyze thermal images, document findings, and communicate identified conditions for further evaluation or corrective action by qualified electrical personnel.
This opportunity is well suited for an electrical apprentice, early-career electrical professional, or skilled-trades technician interested in specializing in electrical thermography and preventive/predictive maintenance.
Perform infrared/thermal imaging inspections of electrical systems and equipment operating at 600 volts or less.
Operate infrared cameras and related inspection equipment.
Identify abnormal heat patterns and potential electrical concerns, including hot spots and temperature anomalies.
Capture clear thermal and visual images of inspected electrical equipment.
Accurately document inspection results, equipment information, temperatures, and observations.
Prepare inspection reports detailing thermal anomalies and findings.
Communicate inspection findings to appropriate electrical personnel, supervisors, customers, or facility representatives.
Escalate identified conditions requiring additional evaluation or corrective action.
Follow all electrical safety procedures and required PPE practices while working around electrical equipment.
Maintain infrared imaging equipment and ensure equipment is properly calibrated and ready for use.
Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
This is an inspection-only position. The technician will not be responsible for performing electrical repairs or corrective electrical work.
2–5 years of electrical, electrical service, facilities maintenance, or related skilled-trades experience preferred.
Experience or familiarity working around electrical systems of 600 volts or less.
Electrical apprenticeship experience is preferred but not required.
Level I Infrared Thermography Certification required.
Understanding of basic electrical components and systems.
Ability to safely work around energized electrical equipment within the scope of the position.
Ability to identify, document, and clearly communicate thermal anomalies.
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
Ability to use computers/software to prepare and maintain inspection reports.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to inspection sites as required.
