Overview
Join our dynamic finance team as a Finance Assistant, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail will drive accurate financial operations and support our organization’s fiscal health. As a key member of our finance department, you will assist with bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial reporting processes that ensure transparency and compliance across all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems
- Perform data entry with precision, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards
- Reconcile balance sheets and general ledger accounts regularly to maintain accurate financial records
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end closing activities, including account analysis and account reconciliation
- Support budgeting, credit analysis, and cash flow forecasting activities through detailed Excel data analysis and spreadsheet management
- Handle confidential financial information with integrity while adhering to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance requirements
- Assist in the management of accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely processing and resolution of discrepancies
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, with familiarity in corporate accounting practices and financial concepts
- Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel for data analysis and spreadsheet management
- Knowledge of accounting standards including GAAP and governmental accounting principles
- Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation, balance sheet review, and double-entry bookkeeping accurately
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Effective communication skills for customer service-oriented interactions and team collaboration
