Part-Time to Full Time Café Closer Wanted
Are you detail-oriented, fast-paced, and great with people? Come work with us at The Sow’s Ear. We are the Midwest's first coffee and yarn store. We're quirky and we love it that way.
We’re currently hiring a part-time café closer with the potential to move into a full-time role after a 2-month trial period. Full-time positions come with a benefits package including PTO, insurance, and 401(k).
As a café closer, your responsibilities will include:
· Providing excellent customer service
· Preparing food and drinks (especially lattes!)
· Cleaning and resetting the café after a day of espresso-fueled joy
· Previous food service experience is a plus, but not required — we're happy to train the right person.
What we’re looking for:
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· Excellent time management
· A friendly and positive attitude
· Bonus points if you have experience with knitting, crochet, or weaving — though it’s not required. (We even offer free classes as part of our employee perks!)
Schedule & Hours:
Part-time schedules are flexible, but working one weekend day every week is a requisite for the job.
Full-time employees have consistent schedules with a designated "weekend" (Friday/Saturday or Sunday/Monday)
Closing shifts typically start between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM
Most closing shifts end by 7:30 PM weekdays. Fridays close is either at 7:30 PM or 9:15 PM. Weekends by 5:30pm.
Shifts are generally 6–8 hours and usually involve standing, walking, lifting, and stairs
