POSITION:
Works directly with the Principal Engineer, Structural Project Manager, Staff Engineers, and Engineering Assistants to complete Structural Engineering project designs and related permitting through government agencies. The ideal candidate will be capable of handling Structural Engineering design, permitting, and consulting projects under supervision from a structural project manager and the Principal Engineer from analysis, design, design team coordination, permitting, construction, and project completion closeout.
Candidate should be able to handle structural design & analysis of complex and custom structures, drafting, problem solving activities, client communication, government agency communication, and assist with construction-related inquires, RFIs, inspections, shop drawing preparation, filing of progress & close-out paperwork with government agencies, etc. The candidate will report to and consult with the Structural Project Manager and Principal Engineer and be able to work in cooperation with Engineering Assistant and Junior Engineering staff.

This will enable the individual to continue to learn and grow in the Engineering/Development/Construction industry with hands-on project work relating to Structural Engineering Design, Project Management, and more.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- High degree of proficiency with AutoCAD
- Experience in modeling structures within structural analysis programs,
- Experience with Revit, ClearCalcs, SkyCiv, Hilti Profis, & MecaWind a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Professional.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects and assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with concurrent deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently with project-specific tasks as well as daily responsibilities.
- Ability to understand structural principles and apply them quickly to various design solutions, including understanding of load combinations, determination of acting loads, determination of acting shear, moment, compression, & tension forces acting on objects.
- Familiarity with ASCE-7 & the Florida Building Code.
- Ability to physically navigate a construction site.
- Experience with conducting structural field inspections.
- Must have valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to assist project manager in preparation of detailed written client proposals, including determining and writing scope and fee generation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the project design team to prepare and draft Structural Engineering designs and Structural Engineering Consulting reports, run analyses and project-related calculations, interpret code and regulations, prepare project documentation, and prepare permit application documentation.
- Attendance at government appointments, client meetings, site visits, etc.
- CAD drafting and staff markups of project plans, including the preparation of detailed integrated project designs.
- Design reviews with design team and Principal Engineer and implementation of engineering elements into the project design.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
2+ Years Total Experience in Structural Engineering Design.
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
- Bachelors Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a Structural Focus Required.
- EIT/FE a plus, PE for extra consideration.
- Advanced knowledge in AutoCAD & Structural Modeling software.
- High degree of proficiency with computers required.
- High degree of technical writing and ability to run mathematical calculations required.
- Experience writing Engineering reports in English required.
COMPENSATION:
Compensation will be weighed based on experience, qualifications, certifications, and licensure.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
