Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dispatcher to join our transportation and logistics team. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule pickups, deliveries, and shipments using transportation management systems (TMS) such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
- Utilize GPS and GIS technologies to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely arrivals.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse staff, and clients via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Enter accurate data into various platforms including AS400, Freight Management Systems, and shipping & receiving logs to track shipment status.
- Manage dispatching operations for freight movement, ensuring compliance with safety standards and delivery deadlines.
- Analyze transportation data to identify inefficiencies or delays and implement solutions to improve overall logistics performance.
- Maintain detailed records of shipments, driver logs, fleet management activities, and incident reports for audit purposes.
Requirements
- Proven experience with transportation management systems (TMS), Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, and transportation planning principles.
- Familiarity with supply chain processes, freight logistics, shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management practices.
- Excellent analysis skills for troubleshooting routing issues or delays; ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Exceptional communication skills with a professional demeanor in phone etiquette and written correspondence.
- Proficiency in data entry using AS400 systems, SyteLine ERP software, and other relevant platforms.
- Ability to multitask effectively using multi-line phone systems while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
