Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of hair services including cutting, coloring, styling, and hair extensions with precision and creativity
- Consult with clients to understand their desired look and recommend suitable treatments based on hair type and face shape
- Apply advanced techniques such as balayage, highlights, lowlights, and color theory principles to achieve desired results
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety in accordance with industry regulations and salon policies
- Use salon software like MINDBODY to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process retail sales efficiently
- Offer additional services such as eyelash extensions, nail care, makeup application, or hair threading to enhance client satisfaction
- Upsell retail products like hair care essentials and styling tools while providing expert advice on their use
Skills
- Proven experience with hair styling, coloring, and extensions; familiarity with hair threading and eyelash extensions is a plus
- Strong knowledge of salon software systems such as MINDBODY for appointment booking and client management
- Expertise in color theory to create customized color solutions that complement each client’s features
- Skilled in sanitation practices to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff
- Excellent communication skills for delivering clear consultations and building rapport with diverse clients
- Knowledge of retail sales techniques including upselling and retail math to maximize revenue opportunities
- Ability to mentor junior team members while fostering a positive team environment
- Proficiency in store management tasks such as front desk operations and maintaining salon cleanliness
