Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Broker Carrier Representative to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will serve as the key liaison between carriers and our organization, ensuring seamless transportation management and supply chain operations. Duties
- Develop and maintain carrier relationships: Build trust and rapport with trucking companies, often through phone, email, or in-person outreach
- Negotiate rates and contracts: Work out spot rates, contracted rates, and terms that benefit both the brokerage and the carrier
- Identify and acquire new carriers: Source new partners to expand the brokerage’s network and capacity
- Manage existing carriers: Monitor performance, ensure on-time delivery, and resolve any operational issues logistics.chaineapp.com.
- Coordinate shipments: Communicate load details, track progress, and ensure accurate documentation in the brokerage’s systems
- Support operations: Collaborate with dispatch, customer service, and account management teams to ensure smooth load execution.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and transportation management systems (TMS)
- Proven experience in customer relationship management (CRM) software and logistics sales strategies
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable freight rates and contracts
- Familiarity with freight forwarding, 3PL operations, NVOCC services, and transportation planning processes
- Ability to handle data entry accurately in dispatching systems such as EDI or AS400
- Effective communication skills for inside sales, lead generation, and carrier negotiations
- Understanding of FDA regulations related to transportation of sensitive goods is a plus

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
