Position Summary
The Mill-Turn CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs for complex mill-turn machining operations. This position works closely with machinists, engineering, and quality personnel to ensure programs produce accurate, high-quality parts efficiently and consistently.
The ideal candidate has strong experience programming multi-axis mill-turn equipment and understands tooling, workholding, cutting parameters, and machining processes.
Essential Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for mill-turn machining operations.
- Program complex parts using CAD/CAM software and/or conversational programming methods.
- Develop efficient tool paths while considering cycle time, tool life, part quality, and machine capabilities.
- Program and support machining operations on Mazak Integrex i-100, i-150, and i-200 and Mazak Quick Turn QT-100 and QT-200 equipment.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, tooling strategies, workholding, and machining parameters.
- Review engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and customer requirements to determine appropriate machining processes.
- Troubleshoot and modify programs to resolve machining issues and improve part quality.
- Support machinists during setup and first-piece production as needed.
- Make program adjustments based on inspection results and production feedback.
- Assist with process improvements to reduce cycle times, scrap, and setup time.
- Maintain accurate and organized CNC programs and documentation.
- Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
- Ensure programs and machining processes meet company quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of CNC programming experience, preferably in a precision machining environment.
- Strong experience programming Mill-Turn or multi-tasking CNC equipment.
- Hands-on experience with Mazak Integrex and/or Mazak Quick Turn equipment strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, workholding, feeds and speeds, and cutting parameters.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience with CAD/CAM programming software.
- Ability to troubleshoot CNC programs and machining processes independently.
- Strong understanding of precision machining and tight-tolerance manufacturing.
- Ability to communicate effectively with machinists, engineering, and quality personnel.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the manufacturing environment for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to frequently use hands and fingers to operate equipment, tools, and computers.
- Ability to work around CNC machinery, machining fluids, noise, and manufacturing equipment while following all required safety procedures.

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
