Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Lead Caregiver to join our team at an adult family home, working from 7am to 7pm. This full-time position offers overtime opportunities and plays a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior and long-term care, along with excellent patient observation and caregiving skills. As a Lead Caregiver, you will oversee daily care activities, support residents' well-being, and ensure adherence to care plans and safety protocols in a nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide personalized assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status
- Administer medications following HIPAA regulations and care plans
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers safely
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient care, observations, and medication administration
- Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease through specialized memory care techniques
- Ensure a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Observe residents for signs of distress or deterioration and escalate concerns appropriately
- Foster a respectful, caring atmosphere that promotes dignity and independence among residents
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living, home health, hospice care, or nursing homes is highly desirable
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia is preferred
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and documentation standards in healthcare settings is essential
- Previous roles involving resident support through direct care or social work are advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and work effectively as part of a team dedicated to resident well-being
