Duties
- Safely operate various types of vehicles including shuttle vans, limousines, and other authorized transport vehicles to move deceased persons.
- Ensure all transportation activities comply with state transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Assist with heavy lifting and manual handling of bodies using proper techniques to prevent injury and maintain dignity.
- Maintain clear communication with funeral homes, medical facilities, and team members to coordinate timely transfers.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance to ensure vehicles are in excellent working condition.
- Follow all protocols for secure and respectful handling of human remains during transit.
- Document all transportation activities accurately in logs and reports for compliance purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or similar commercial driving roles.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; specific experience with <PERSON> driver or limousine service is a plus.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently; familiarity with heavy vehicle operation preferred.
- Knowledge of state transportation regulations related to commercial driving and paratransit services.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and external partners.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely.
- Excellent customer service skills with a respectful and compassionate approach toward families and clients.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge to identify issues early and ensure safety on the road.
