Job Description
Tooling Technician (Weekend Shift)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Tooling Technician to support injection molding operations on the weekend shift. In this role, you will ensure tooling is clean, properly maintained, and production-ready to minimize downtime and maintain consistent product quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This position is ideal for an individual with strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively to production issues.
Shift Schedule
Weekend Shift Options:
Friday–Sunday, 3:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Friday–Sunday, 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM
Key Responsibilities
Respond quickly to tooling and production issues to minimize downtime
Assist with die setups, changeovers, and production readiness
Clean, inspect, and prepare tooling during production stoppages
Identify, tag, and document tooling requiring repair or maintenance
Communicate issues with supervisors, leads, and engineering teams
Support operators with tooling maintenance and cleaning procedures
Inspect parts for quality and ensure compliance with standards
Maintain 6S organization and safety standards in the work area
Track tooling activity using Gage Track system
Disassemble, clean, troubleshoot, and reassemble dies with minor repairs
Qualifications
Manufacturing experience preferred
Basic understanding of injection press operations (wax injection a plus)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to follow detailed work instructions and procedures
Mechanical aptitude strongly preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and handle tooling and materials safely
Standing for extended periods throughout the shift
Strong attention to detail and organization
Ability to remain focused in a physically active environment
Effective time management and prioritization skills
