Position Summary:
The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, and upgrade of Mevion equipment. This includes assembling small and large components of complex electromechanical systems, performing precision and final alignments, and working with systems powered by live electrical sources. The role supports hardware configuration, testing during manufacturing and final test phases, and contributes to the continuous improvement of medical device products.
Assemble, install, and test electro-mechanical systems for Mevion products
Build and test electrical cables, harnesses, and distribution equipment
Assemble and test plant switchgear, motor control centers, and electrical distribution systems
Provide AC power feeds for high-power DC and RF devices
Assemble, test, and install high-current and high-voltage power cables
Create and maintain controlled documentation for assembly procedures and component modifications
Assemble electronics cabinetry, backplanes, PLC racks, and other signal systems
Assist in the specification and acquisition of tools and equipment
Train lower-level technicians as needed
Perform other related duties as assigned
Education, Training, and Experience:
Technical diploma or 5+ years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and hands-on training
Experience assembling mid-complexity electronic chassis using mechanical drawings, schematics, and wire run lists
Familiarity with point-to-point wiring, cleanroom procedures, and vacuum systems
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools (e.g., wire strippers, crimpers, soldering stations, digital multimeters)
Proficient in reading technical drawings and schematics
Capable of accurately documenting assembly procedures
Experience working with controlled documentation and within FDA-compliant environments
Physical and Environmental Considerations:
Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time.
Required use of standard office equipment including laptop, phone, copier, etc.
Typical office environment.
Must be able to walk through the factory environment safely.
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
May be involved in light rigging operations.
Must be able to work in confined spaces and spaces which require the use of a harness.
