The Penny Ice Creamery is seeking Shift Leads for our Palo Alto and Los Altos locations at Town and Country Village and State Street Market!
The Penny Ice Creamery is the only ice cream shop in Santa Cruz that makes ice cream completely from scratch, in house, using local and organic ingredients. We make unique flavors like Rose Petal Peach, Blackberry Sweet Corn, and Whiskey Custard! We also make timeless flavors like Cookies n' Cream and Straight Up Strawberry, and our classics like Tahitian Vanilla Bean, Fresh Mint Chip, and Dark Chocolate.
As a Shift Leader, you will create an excellent customer experience by scooping ice cream and making special items like ice cream sundaes and milkshakes. You will get barista-trained and make coffee and tea drinks (proudly serving Verve Coffee!). You will get trained on opening and closing the shop. You will also become an expert in making fresh sugar cones and marshmallow fluff from scratch!
In addition to providing exceptional service, you will be a leader and role model for the staff. During your shift, you will be responsible for maintaining the flow of business and the presentation of the shop, and upholding our high standards of service, product quality, and hospitality.
Requirements Include:
- Skills include critical thinking, problem-solving, prioritization, and leadership.
- Ability to work autonomously, and as a team player and leader.
- Ability to effectively communicate and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled in attention to detail and follow-through.
- Available to work on weekdays, weekends and holidays.
- Available to work at least 20 hours a week on a reliable basis.
- Preference will be given to individuals with experience in leadership, but we are willing to train the right person.
