Position Summary
Velocity Express Logistics is seeking a highly motivated Operations Manager to oversee the daily operation of our Amazon DSP. This leader will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and successful daily delivery operations while leading a team of dispatchers, driver trainers, and delivery associates.
The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, developing people, and driving results through accountability and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily delivery operations from dispatch through route completion.
- Lead and support dispatchers, driver trainers, and delivery associates.
- Ensure all routes depart on time and are completed successfully.
- Monitor route performance throughout the day and respond to operational issues.
- Coach employees on safety, performance, attendance, and customer service.
- Manage driver performance using Amazon operational metrics.
- Conduct ride-alongs, audits, and performance reviews.
- Hire, interview, onboard, and develop new employees.
- Ensure compliance with all Amazon DSP policies and company procedures.
- Manage payroll approvals, scheduling, and staffing levels.
- Maintain excellent communication with Amazon station leadership.
- Create a positive culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Required: Previous Amazon Delivery Service Partner (DSP) management experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience within an Amazon DSP environment.
- Proven experience managing dispatch, driver performance, and daily delivery operations.
- Strong understanding of Amazon performance metrics and scorecards.
- Experience coaching, developing, and holding delivery associates accountable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Proficient with Amazon DSP operational tools and reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), including the ability to organize data, maintain reports, and perform basic spreadsheet functions used in daily operations.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and relevant leadership background. Top candidates with extensive Amazon DSP management experience may qualify for higher starting compensation.
