Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Job Coach to empower individuals in achieving their employment goals and enhancing their overall quality of life. In this role, you will provide personalized support, mentorship, and guidance to clients from diverse backgrounds, including underserved communities, children, youth, and adults facing various challenges such as mental health conditions or substance use disorders. Your energetic approach will motivate clients to develop skills, build confidence, and navigate community resources effectively. Responsibilities
- Develop individualized employment plans tailored to each client’s strengths, needs, and cultural background.
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to support clients in job readiness, skill development, and workplace integration.
- Collaborate with community organizations, employers, and service providers to coordinate resources that benefit clients’ employment and personal growth.
- Offer guidance on child & family services, addiction counseling, mental health support, and other relevant community resources.
- Support clients in managing confidential information with sensitivity and professionalism while maintaining trust.
- Assist clients in developing communication skills, conflict management strategies, and caregiving techniques for high-risk populations.
- Track progress through documentation and regular follow-ups, adjusting plans as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with culturally diverse communities, children, youth, or individuals with substance use disorders or mental health conditions.
- Strong cultural sensitivity and competency to effectively serve underserved populations.
- Background in social work, community resource coordination, or related fields is highly desirable.
- Excellent client communication skills combined with mentoring and adult peer support experience.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
- Experience working with families and supporting high-risk populations through addiction counseling or caregiving roles.
- Strong conflict management skills along with the ability to teach life skills in a supportive manner.
