Job Summary
This position is responsible for coordinating the logistics process of freight movement both on a regional and local level.
Description of Essential Functions
- Provide leadership and accountability to team of drivers
- Dispatch drivers in accordance with established procedures
- Follow up and communicate status of each shipment to ensure on-time customer delivery requirements are met
- Receive, sort and organize the necessary paperwork to pay the drivers and bill the Customers
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently and professionally
- Train drivers on procedures for paperwork, route and eLogs
- Manage hours of service for drivers
- Contact customers to find new loads
- Notify customers of any problems with delivery schedule
Job Requirements
- Must have thorough knowledge of FMCSA
- Must have 2 + years of dispatch experience in Truckload Transportation, preferably with experience in Samsara and TMW
- Ability to make sound decisions and implement in a timely manner
- Proficient computer skills in both Microsoft Office and load tendering systems
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong safety background, knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred
- Ability to work long hours and be flexible to changing schedule and be willing to work nights and weekends as needed
Additional Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License (preferred)
- Must be bilingual – English/Spanish**
