United Services is seeking a motivated and community-focused Youth Substance Prevention Coalition Leader to join our Community Prevention Program. This position plays a vital role in implementing prevention strategies aimed at reducing substance use among school-age youth and strengthening the health and well-being of our local communities.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with diverse groups of people and is comfortable engaging with school staff, business owners, town employees, parents, students, and other community stakeholders. This role is responsible for coordinating prevention initiatives, building strong community partnerships, supporting youth leadership efforts, and promoting substance misuse prevention and mental health awareness.

What You Will Do (Day-to-Day):
- Coordinate the Partnership in Connecticut Communities (PCC) program and related prevention initiatives.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen a community coalition focused on substance misuse prevention.
- Collaborate with schools, businesses, municipal agencies, parents, youth, and community partners to support prevention efforts.
- Plan and coordinate outreach, education, and community engagement activities.
- Support youth peer advocates and youth leadership initiatives.
- Promote awareness of substance misuse prevention and mental health resources.
- Track program activities and prepare required reports and documentation.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
- Represent United Services at community meetings, events, and coalition activities.
- Support agency-wide initiatives related to prevention, wellness, and community health.
Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m-4:30 p.m. (35 hours per week)
Minimum Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in health education, community or public health, human services, or a related field
Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) or willing to obtain certification
Hourly Pay Range:
$19.00 – $21.50 per hour (depending on experience).
Bilingual/ Spanish Fluency: $19.96 – $22.59 per hour (depending on experience).

Work Location: Because our clients rely on face-to-face support to build trust, this position is fully in-person and office based.
