Job Summary

Duties
- Safely operate passenger vehicles such as vans and wheelchair-accessible vans, to transport clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or other designated locations.
- Follow all local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including adherence to traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Use GPS navigation systems to plan efficient routes and ensure timely arrivals at destinations.
- Assist clients with boarding and disembarking vehicles, providing support for those with mobility challenges or special needs.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and cleanliness of the transportation fleet.
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding pick-up times, routes, and any delays or issues that may arise during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and client information in compliance with company policies and regulations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a delivery driver, bus driver, chauffeur, or shuttle driver is highly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type
- Experience operating passenger vans or medical transportation vehicles is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and local driving routes to optimize efficiency.
- Knowledge of state transportation regulations and safety standards related to commercial driving and paratransit services.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as assisting clients with mobility aids or heavy lifting when necessary.
- Clean driving record with adherence to traffic regulations at all times.
- Good maintenance awareness to identify vehicle issues early and coordinate repairs when needed.
- Note: Pursuant to the New Mexico DOT, we will perform tests and check all backgrounds.
