Metal machine & fabrication job shop is seeking a motivated and dependable Yard/Warehouse Worker and Delivery Driver to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be actively involved in yard/warehouse operations while delivering exceptional service to our customers. As a key member of our logistics team, you will handle material handling, operate various equipment, and ensure timely, safe deliveries using your driving skills. Duties
- Assist with yard/warehouse operations
- Follow safe lifting practices during manual handling tasks involving heavy or bulky items
- Load, unload, and organize materials within the yard/warehouse using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as forklifts.
- Safely operate light duty commerial flat bed trucks for delivery adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines
- Plan efficient delivery routes using mobile devices or route planning tools to ensure timely deliveries
- Load and secure goods in vehicles, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety during transit
- Deliver products directly to customers’ locations with professionalism, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any mechanical issues promptly
Qualifications
- Proven experience in yard/warehouse operations, delivery driving
- Knowledge of yard/warehouse equipment such as forklifts, and material handling tools
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting, moving items, and manual handling tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving or operating a light duty commerial flat bed truck is highly preferred
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently and safely
- Familiarity with DOT regulations related to weight handling, hours of service, and safety standards for commercial drivers
- Experience using mobile devices for route navigation or delivery documentation

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
