Plating & Service Support | Barback / BOH
CASE Chocolates | Houston, TX | Part-Time | Wednesday–Saturday Evenings
CASE Chocolates is a speakeasy-style chocolate and cocktail tasting experience in Houston's East End. Our guests experience handcrafted liquid-center chocolates, thoughtful cocktail pairings, and highly curated hospitality.
We're looking for an Experience Support Associate to help make that experience happen.
This is a hands-on, behind-the-scenes hospitality role combining chocolate plating and preparation with barback and service support. It's ideal for someone with a line cook, prep cook, barback, or high-volume hospitality background who takes pride in having a station ready, keeping service moving, and making every plate look right before it reaches a guest.
You don't need to be a chocolatier. We'll teach you CASE. We're looking for someone who already understands urgency, cleanliness, consistency, preparation, and teamwork.
What You'll DoChocolate Plating & Prep
- Plate chocolates and tasting components according to CASE presentation standards
- Prepare and organize the plating station before service
- Inspect chocolates and finished plates for quality and consistency
- Maintain proper mise en place throughout the evening
- Communicate with the service team to keep chocolate courses moving on time
- Learn our chocolates, pairings, and tasting sequence to understand how your work fits into the full guest experience
Service & Bar Support
- Support the bartender by restocking glassware, ice, ingredients, supplies, and other service needs
- Clear and reset tables throughout service
- Wash and circulate glassware, plates, utensils, and service pieces
- Keep the bar and service team supplied so they can remain focused on guests
- Take out trash and maintain clean, organized BOH and service areas
- Jump in where needed when service gets busy
This is an active support position. You should be comfortable being on your feet throughout service, washing dishes, bussing tables, taking out trash, restocking a bar, cleaning, plating food, and moving quickly between responsibilities.
Who We're Looking For
Line cook, prep cook, kitchen, barback, or restaurant support experience is strongly preferred.
The right person for this role:
- Has a strong sense of urgency during service
- Understands mise en place and takes pride in a well-organized station
- Has an eye for clean, consistent plating and presentation
- Notices what needs to happen without always waiting to be asked
- Keeps working when things get busy instead of becoming overwhelmed
- Takes pride in cleanliness and organization
- Understands that washing a glass or restocking a station can be just as important to the guest experience as serving the final plate
- Communicates well with bartenders, servers, hosts, and kitchen teammates
- Is dependable and arrives prepared and on time
- Is interested in learning about chocolate, cocktails, and elevated hospitality
Reliability Matters
CASE is a small, highly coordinated team. Every position matters to the execution of service.
Dependable attendance and Wednesday–Saturday evening availability are essential for this role. When you're scheduled, the team is counting on you to be there, prepared and ready to work.
The CASE Standard
At CASE, some of the most important hospitality happens where the guest never sees it.
A polished glass. A perfectly placed chocolate. A stocked bartender. A clean station. A table reset before the next experience begins.
Those details determine whether service feels effortless to our guests.
This isn't simply a dishwasher, busser, barback, or plating position. You're the person helping connect all of those pieces so the experience keeps moving.
Schedule & Compensation
- Part-time
- Wednesday–Saturday evening availability
- $14–$18 average hourly compensation, including base wage and tips
- Opportunity for additional shifts and advancement as CASE grows
- Eligible for team incentives and bonuses
Uniform & Presentation
- CASE Chocolates uniform standards
- Non-slip, closed-toe shoes required
- Clean and polished appearance appropriate for a premium hospitality environment
Why CASE?
You'll learn a style of chocolate and hospitality you won't find in a traditional restaurant.
We're building something different: part chocolate atelier, part cocktail experience, part hospitality theater. And we're looking for people who understand that extraordinary experiences are built through hundreds of small things being done exceptionally well.
Think slowly. Move with urgency. Take care of the details. Create something extraordinary.
