Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assess, plan, and implement personalized occupational therapy programs that promote independence, enhance functional abilities, and improve quality of life for diverse patient populations. Whether working in inpatient settings, outpatient clinics, schools, or home health environments, you will play a key role in delivering evidence-based interventions tailored to each individual's needs. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional functioning using standardized tools and clinical observations
- Develop individualized treatment plans focusing on improving activities of daily living (ADLs), motor skills, sensory processing, and adaptive techniques
- Assist patients with discharge planning by coordinating care transitions and providing home or community-based recommendations
- Implement targeted occupational therapy programs across various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, schools, and home health services
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams such as speech therapists, physical therapists, physicians, educators, and case managers to ensure holistic patient care
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and clinical records using electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Support clients with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder by designing specialized interventions and supporting behavioral strategies
- Provide education and training to patients, families, caregivers, and school staff on therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment use
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with evidence-based practices in pediatric occupational therapy, physical rehabilitation, and occupational health
Skills
- Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities across age groups including pediatrics, geriatrics, and adults in acute care or skilled nursing facilities
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and clinical assessment tools relevant to occupational therapy practice
- Expertise in assisting with ADLs such as dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and mobility to promote independence
- Experience developing treatment plans tailored to diverse needs including early intervention programs and outpatient rehabilitation services
- Skilled in case management practices for coordinating care plans and supporting post-acute recovery efforts
- Ability to work effectively with students with disabilities or special education needs within school settings or community programs
- Familiarity with implementing occupational therapy assessments for patients with neurodevelopmental disorders like autism spectrum disorder
- Proficiency managing medical documentation accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems while adhering to confidentiality standards
- Excellent client communication skills to foster trust and motivate progress during therapy sessions
- Experience working collaboratively within clinical interprofessional teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices for pediatric occupational therapy and physical rehabilitation strategies
- Ability to adapt interventions for inpatient or outpatient environments including home health or clinic-based settings
