The Carlsbad Beach Hotel Properties, Beach Terrace Boutique Hotel, www.beachterraceinn.com, is hiring a Front Desk Supervisor for our stunning beachfront hotel!
Our strongest asset as a hotel is our location, the ‘private’ beach that is our backyard. Our Associates will ensure every guest feels a personal connection to our little corner of the world.
The Front Desk Supervisor must genuinely provide hospitality to our guests and our Employees.
The ideal candidate must have computer and math abilities and will bring to the team a cohesive team focused on providing our guests with superb service while maintaining all Hotel’s standards. Must have professional communication skills, both verbal and written, and excellent leadership capabilities and customer relations skills.
Must be able to multi-task, be organized, very detail oriented, able to work under pressure, have the ability to solve problems in a professional manner, and to perform other duties assigned by the Hotel Manager. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
This position requires the ability to work 8 hours between 7 am to 11:15 pm and occasionally graveyard shifts.
This position also requires full availability to work on weekends and holidays!

Responsibilities include Supervises the day-to-day activities of the Hotel operations through customer contact and supervision of employees ensuring 100% guest satisfaction.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversees customer check in/check out including carrying luggage to guest rooms on a needed basis.
- Processes discrepancy reports, rate variations and credit reports. Coordinates the ordering and reconciliation of package coupons.
- Maintains key control within the hotel.
- Update room status as Housekeeping notifies the Front Desk of changes, if needed.
- Notify Housekeeping and Maintenance of any reported problems with rooms or grounds.
- Ensures all employees are well trained with an emphasis on detail to provide service levels consistent with the customer satisfaction assurance goals and initiatives.
- Helps to maintain and enhance a safe, secure and comfortable environment for our guests and employees.
- Monitor performance of staff and make recommendations for training related issues when inconsistencies develop at the Front Desk.
- Maintains knowledge of hotel, community and special events in order to accurately provide guests with needed information.
- Able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and employees.
- Ability to communicate one-on-one and to groups to explain policies and procedures to persuade others to accept or adopt a specific opinion or action.
- Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decision when handling customer needs and concerns.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Skills/Experience:
- High school graduate. Some college, preferred.
- 1+ years’ upscale hotel Front Desk /Night Audit Agent experience, preferred.
- Previous Hotel Front Desk Supervisor experience, ideal.
- 1+ years upscale customer service experience.
- College course work in related field helpful.
- Must have excellent professional communication skills both verbally and in writing in English with guests/visitors, management, and co-workers to their understanding, in person, e-mail and by telephone is necessary.
- Familiarity with property management systems, Opera, HotSOS, ideal.
- Knowledge of computers is essential.
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and to stand for extended periods of time and able to climb flights of stairs several times a day.
