Job Summary
Gelsosomo's Pizzeria Portage is searching for a phones person/clerk. Answer phones and take orders from the Toast POS system. You will also hand out orders to carryout customers. This position is ideal for someone who lives close, is great with people, and is looking for anywhere from 2-5 evening shifts per week. This is also a tipped position.
Duties
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers with their orders and inquiries.
- Operate the Toast POS system for processing transactions accurately.
- Manage cash handling responsibilities, including processing payments and providing accurate change.
- Assist in upselling menu items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including bussing tables and sanitizing surfaces.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery.
- Adhere to all health regulations regarding food handling and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant environment is preferred, including culinary experience.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast is a plus.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy setting.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor towards guests.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices is essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated when necessary.
