Southview Acres Health Care Center is looking for a Cook to join our team!
The ideal candidate for this position has previous cooking experience, enjoys working in a busy environment and is capable of taking direction well and multi-tasking effectively. Responsibilities for Cook:
Report to and follows directions from Dietary Manager.
Maintain accurate food counts
Will prep meals following Facility Recipes
Rotate stock items as per procedures
Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift
Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures and by following food, health, and safety procedures
Prepares items to be used for next day’s meals
Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts
The ideal candidate for Cook will have:
The ability to read and follow standardized recipes
High school education or equivalent.
Ability to read, write and speak in English effectively to use recipes, prepare meals and communicate effectively.
Three years of food service experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
Serv-Safe Certification preferred
Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere
Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
