Innovative Driven is seeking an experienced personal injury paralegal to join the growing team in our law firm client's brand new Teaneck, NJ office!
You will manage client files from intake to trial, handle NJ e-Court filings, gather medical records, and draft legal documents.
Responsibilities:
- Handle pre-litigation issues involving statutes of limitations
- File and meet Tort Claims Act notice requirements (municipal entities)
- Track insurance coverage and policy limits
- Track PIP exhaustion and medical benefits review
- Facilitate serious injury/verbal threshold analysis
- Coordinate the preservation of evidence, bearing in mind spoliation concerns
- Investigate UM/UIM coverage
- File legal documents via NJ eCourts, manage case calendars, and track critical deadlines like statutes of limitations. Facilitate the pre-litigation process through case conclusion.
- Request, review, and summarize medical bills and records; handle health insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid liens
- Maintain regular contact with attorneys at the firm, injured clients, insurance adjusters, and medical offices
- Prepare comprehensive demand packages, organize trial exhibits, and schedule depositions or independent medical exams (IMEs).
- Handle settlement resolutions and review/release settlement documents
- Complete settlement disbursement and closing statements
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience working in a New Jersey plaintiff personal injury law firm
- Deep familiarity with NJ court rules, civil litigation procedures, the verbal threshold, and Personal Injury Protection (PIP) no-fault guidelines
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
