This position is PRN and will provide coverage for various shifts and schedules.
Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist administers respiratory therapy to assist, control and/or improve patients' breathing. Administers oxygen and other medical gases, aerosolized medications, positive pressure breathing devices, ventilators, resuscitation devices, etc. Performs pulmonary diagnostic procedures and assessments and performs additional related duties as assigned or necessary.
Education and Training:
- Respiratory therapists must have a minimum of an associate degree from an accredited respiratory therapy education program.
Licensures/ Certifications:
- Licensed by the State of Washington as a Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist or LPN.
- Current ACLS certificate , or ACLS course within one year.
- Current American Heart Associations BLS/CPR certification card on hire or within orientation period.
Experience:
- One year of clinical experience, preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to adapt to changing technology.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Patience and empathy with patients and family members.
- Ability to work independently as well as cohesively with a team of care givers.
- Impeccable attention to detail is a must.
