Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 am. – 5 p.m.
Work Location: In-office daily – flexible hours subject to supervisor approval.
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Consumer Banker is responsible for independently managing and developing client relationships through a holistic approach by evaluating individual financial circumstances, identifying financial needs, analyzing credit and deposit opportunities, and recommending and structuring appropriate banking and lending solutions. The position exercises independent judgment in credit analysis and lending decisions within delegated authority and provides individualized financial recommendations consistent with client objectives, Bank policies, credit standards, and regulatory requirements. The Consumer Banker serves as a trusted financial resource to clients while supporting the Bank's growth in core deposits, consumer lending, and overall relationship value.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:

Develop, cultivate & expand relationships by providing consistent and effective communication and services to new and existing customers by proactively identifying client financial needs, evaluating appropriate banking and lending solutions, providing individualized recommendations, and developing and maintaining long-term client relationships.

Manage existing client relationships. Independently assess client financial circumstances, objectives, risk considerations, and existing banking relationships to identify changes in circumstances that may create opportunities or require adjustments and evaluate appropriate deposit and lending solutions. Recommend and structure financial products and services based on the client's individual circumstances and explain the advantages, disadvantages, costs, risks, and implications of available alternatives. Connect client to bank service centers as appropriate to achieve client-approved solutions.

Achieve established relationship-management, client-service, deposit-growth, and loan-production objectives through consultative financial needs analysis, individualized recommendations, relationship development, and appropriate referrals to Bank specialists.

Credit Analysis & decision making. Evaluate and make independent credit decisions within delegated lending authority by analyzing borrower financial information, credit history, debt service capacity, collateral, loan-to-value ratios, repayment sources, risk factors, and other relevant information.
- Credit structuring. Exercise professional judgment in determining appropriate credit structures, terms, conditions, and risk mitigations within established bank policy and regulatory requirements.

Gather client information to facilitate a streamlined account opening process- including completion of loan applications and collection of information required to make credit decisions and open deposit accounts.

Financial recommendations. Implement client-approved deposit and lending solutions, including opening and servicing deposit accounts and completing required documentation in accordance with applicable bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. [included (but not limited to) checking accounts, savings accounts, certificates of deposit, health savings accounts, IRAs, safe deposit boxes]

Facilitating 2x2x2 follow-up process to deepen relationship and identify additional financial needs and opportunities within existing client relationships. Recommend appropriate bank products, services, or resources when they would reasonably benefit the client

Greets customers, delivers prompt and efficient service and provides information about bank products and services.

Partners with retail, consumer and commercial bankers providing direct and backup support as necessary.

Actively participate in existing client and potential new client meetings.

Handle customer complaints with appropriate action to resolve them.

Understanding features and benefits of banking and lending products including bank deposits, certificates of deposits, credit cards, residential mortgage products, home equity lines of credit, securities-based loans, high net worth tailored lending products & commercial credit products.

Represent bank in community through networking, speaking/presenting, events and professional involvement to generate new client relationships and deepen existing.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
-
Minimum two-year lending (consumer or commercial) & deposit services experience with direct experience in loan origination and deposit growth in the financial services industry

Demonstrated experience in credit underwriting, reviewing consumer loan applications with calculation and review of debt-to-income ratios, LTV collateral calculations, credit bureau review.
- Demonstrated success in building lasting client relationships and meeting production goals.
- Ability to communicate with external customers and internal employees in a professional manner.
