POSITION PURPOSE:

Set up and operate CNC Laser cutting machine.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Operate CNC laser cutting machines to cut metal plates, sheets or tubes according to customer requirements and technical specifications.

· Set up the laser cutting machine, inputting required parameters and programming the system for efficient and accurate cuts.

· Read, understand and comprehend basic blueprints and drawings.

· Load raw materials, position sheet metal or tubing on the laser bed, and manage the finished cut parts and scrap.

· Prioritize work assignments based on department schedule

· General maintenance of all equipment associated with the operation of the CNC Laser table

· Perform all necessary quality checks during production and follow procedures when defective parts are discovered

· Perform a variety of duties including grinding, deburring, cleaning of parts, cutting and removal of scrap.

· All other tasks as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

· Knowledge of reading blueprints and measuring equipment.

· A strong understanding of metalworking principles and different types of metals.

· Familiarity with loading materials into the CNC system and basic programming concepts.

· The ability to ensure that the fabricated parts meet the required quality and dimensional standards.

· The ability to identify and address minor machine issues.

· Overhead crane and forklift experience a plus.

- Tube laser experience a big plus

QUALIFICATIONS / PRIOR EXPERIENCE:

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· 2 years or more of relevant previous experience (CNC, Waterjet, Laser, Plasma, Tube Laser)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
